The best of both worlds

July 21, 2009

AHA.  4:45pm and I have figured out how to get around that whole ‘posting-about-the-same-thing-twice’ issue… by technically writing about 2 different things again, but because I am writing about them together… it’s a whole new post!  (Look, I’m just filling in while Amanda’s gone, ok?  I’m trying my best!)

So, as I mentioned, I was at my BFF Sally’s in the country on Saturday.  Some of you know Sally- she was a HUGE part of Lola & Emily for… well… ever… since the beginning.  But after travelling in New Zealand for 5 months, Sal has decided that she wants to become… a farmer.  How AWESOME is that?  She has planted gardens in the country, and will hopefully start doing market baskets in early Fall.  In any case, you can rest assured that you will hear more about her projects because she is ridiculously talented and will do incredible things.  Anyhow… there’s Sal, on the left (dressed all in Lola & Emily, of course, which you can’t really make out all that well, but well, she was…) and that’s Sara and Annabel on the porch.

We were actually having lunch in honour of Sara (or so she decided) who was, in this picture, without our knowledge, about 24 hours away from going into labour and having her second son!  Yay Sara!

Anyhow, given that 2 of my best friends have been out in the country for the last little while, one becoming a farmer, and the other becoming… um… a Mother (again)… I have missed them.  And so I sent them each a card.  A Hazel Bee card.  I know Amanda has already posted about them… but we just got a new batch in a few weeks ago, and I love them all so much.  So here are the ones that I sent to my beautiful friends…

Sal is a HUGE library fan (seriously, she has a library card)

and Sara… well, Sara was 9 months pregnant… and I thought this perfectly, sarcastically illustrated how she might be feeling!

And I know they both loved the cards too.  Did I write a lot of sappy stuff in their respective cards about how much I love them?  Yes.  Of course I did.  But I’m pretty sure that if I had left them blank, they both would have enjoyed them almost as much (not at all).
