Yeah.  You heard me.  This weekend I am going to a big party to celebrate some of my favourite ladies…  turning 40.  Among them, my sister, Steph, and Sal and my friend Wendy who JUST called me as I was writing this so I thought she would appreciate the mention (They are now each one step closer to getting their own colour…).

Anyhow, while looking through old pics from the 80′s when we were all growing up and sporting the long/short hair style… yikes… we were also overwhelmingly sporting blue eyeliner.  While I am not prepared to honour our amazing childhood Summer moments back in ’82 by re-visiting anything that I may have worn back then… I thought I might try and pay tribute to the times by wearing some blue eyeliner.

And so I have spent the better part of the last hour looking for some inpiring ‘blue eyeliner’ looks to try out.  I’m afraid there really aren’t many.  One of the problems is that I’m not trying to re-invent how to wear it… I’m not looking to create some futuristic, bold look by connecting my eyebrows with neon blue eyeshadow (you know who you are… Solange Knowles…)

So, finally I came across this pic of Blake Lively.  I’m not going to go so far as to say that I will come anywhere close to pulling this off as well as she does… mainly because I think the colour I bought is a little trashier… and, well, because I think I’m actually 20 years older than her (Bitch… what ? no, no… I was 18 once too… and still never looked like… ok.  Look, she’s gorgeous.  What’re you going to do?)

In any case, I will report back on the resounding success (or dire failure) of the blue eyeliner next week.  Or not.  Because Amanda will be back then, filling the blog with awesome, cute, relevant stuff again.
