I have forced myself to hold back on this post for like 3 days, because, well, technically, this is not exactly my news to tell, but I can’t wait any longer… I am just too excited and while this may not be “my” news, it is relevant to Lola & Emily in a very serious way….
Amanda had her baby!!!! Clementine Mae Castle (cutest. name. ever) was born on Friday, January 28th at 5:40pm. A healthy 8 lbs 9 oz, which is shocking when you realize that Amanda actually gained a sum total of like 16 pounds during her pregnancy (bitch), everyone is happy, healthy and back home nesting.
I couldn’t be happier for Amanda and Max and look forward to getting to know little Clementine. More importantly, I look forward to seeing what incredible outfits Amanda puts together for the next generation of the Lola & Emily family. So, congratulations, my dear Amanda. It goes without saying that you will be an incredible Mother. What sets you apart is that you will somehow manage to pull off what my sister Steph always refers to as “the indignities” of motherhood (my favourite story of hers involves a holiday shopping excursion, her coat, an elevator, her son, and a public toilet…. enough said) with so much grace that it will look like a piece of cake…. And you will make harried, haggared Mothers everywhere hate you, and really, when you get down to it, that’s what it’s all about.

Congrats! I don’t know Amanda personally and don’t live in Mtl anymore, but I love the shop so much that I follow your blog all the way from BC, and I make sure I drop in whenever I’m in town! And I pretty much 100% of the time agree with your style commentary on this blog. All the best with your new little munchkin and enjoy the ride!
