Well hello 1982 old friend…
I am totally loving these Sam Edelman Idahlia flats.

Pointy toe, slingback with studs. I swear to God I bought these exact shoes at La Chateau in Les Terrasses back in ’82. After which, I went to the Magic Pan for lunch and possibly bought some bright yellow eyeshadow at Faces.
Chances are 99% of you have NO idea what I’m talking about… but that’s ok. Those who do remember would happily join me in describing to you the first ‘mall’ in Montreal, Les Terrasses, which was possibly the creepiest, darkest place in the world. It was all concrete and split level and… it was just completely ill-conceived.

Amazingly, this photo makes Les Terrasses look almost decent. It wasn’t. It was weird. And colour coded… each floor was a different colour but that just made it more confusing as some levels were only half levels… my God… who designed that nightmare? It’s no wonder that it only lasted from 1976 to 1985, when it was torn down, and replaced by the Eaton Centre… And, there’s your little “History of Montreal” lesson.
Right… the adorable Sam Edelman flats that started it all… the Idahlia slingbacks are $144 available at both stores.

Marn, you crack me up, waiting for the 1982 reference…
