I love…

Here are a few things that are making me happy.

Giorgio Armani makeup.  I stopped by Holts yesterday to have a look around and I admit that I was feeling a little washed out.  Normally I am so hesitant when the cosmetics people try and help me, but I succumbed to the charm of one lovely guy who clearly saw that I needed a pick-me-up.  And SOLD.  I walked out with these 2 products (Blushing Fabric and Bronze Mania) which somehow managed to make me look healthy, sunkissed and rosy cheeked.  Or at least that’s what he told me….

On my way home yesterday, through parking lots and back alleys, I came across these ducks just hanging out in a giant puddle.  Ok, first of all…. DUCKS just hanging in a puddle…. but also, given that ducks mate for life (I think?) it seemed just that much more adorable, that this ‘couple’ were all alone just enjoying their puddle.  Alternatively, I am just a cheesy romantic…

How ridiculously cute do my RayBans look on BOTH my nephew Jacob and my niece Lily? Crazy, right???

Elsa Peretti Bottle pendants… I was instantly thrown back to sometime between 1988 and 1990 when I saw this ad yesterday for the Elsa Peretti bottle pendants.  I think lots of us had ‘tear sheet’ folders at one point or another in our lives… when you saw something you liked in a magazine, you tore it out and kept it in sort of an ‘inspiration’ file… Anyhow, this ad was in that file way back when.  I LOVED it.  I don’t know why… it’s just so crisp and fresh and shiny… anyhow, as it happens, I actually got one of the smallest of the Elsa Peretti bottle pendants for a subsequent birthday because I was SO obssessed with them.  It doesn’t have the same impact as this large one, but I think I will take a look through all my old jewelry this weekend and see if I can’t resurrect it…

  1. ok, I usually steer clear of cosmetics salespeople, but a few weeks ago after some random old man told me i looked tired (no joke) I high-tailed it to Holts and let the Armani cosmetics people apply under-eye concealer and blush, and I was a new woman. I happily bought the products they used on me and I love them. Two kinds of concealer, and the palest pink blush which looks surprisingly fresh. Their lipstick cases feel really luxurious too. Sold!

  2. I have long been a devotee of NARS but clearly I am going to have to hightail it to the Armani counter STAT! x
