I love a classic trouser.  Not “trousers” (ie. pleated front man pants) but trouser-style.  Slash side pockets, wider leg and flat front, either in jeans or cotton or whatever fabric, really.  This style was really prominent about 8 years ago… I remember one season looking at our jean selection as it arrived and being like “Hmmm.  Did we order any NON-trouser style?“  And the answer was no.  The result was probably overkill, and as such, trouser-style sort of disappeared for a while.  But I am happy to see it back.  We just received a pair of Joe’s Jeans trousers in a dark grey, wide leg fit.  Very stretchy, and SO SUPER COMFY they feel like sweat pants… awesome.

Another classic style that I can never have too many of is the Ballet flat.  I, as some of you know, am not super coordinated on heels… it’s a fact, and I have learned to live with it and the resulting less-long-leg syndrome, but whatever… this isn’t about how I wish my legs were longer and thinner… who DOESN”T want that?  This is about reality.  And ballet flats are f*&^ing comfortable and classic.  And kind of classy too, if you will permit me to use that word.  Anyhow, we also just received some new Bloch London flats for Fall, and here are 2 styles that are the epitome of classic flat syle: the Carina in snake $230 and the Alia in black $170.

I’m pretty sure I will be wearing these trousers and flats on a very regular basis… How can I be so sure, you ask?  Well, I’ve already changed into the trousers and the Alia flats, and given that we have this pretty strict policy at Lola & Emily that if you wear something OUT of the store, as I did to go and grab a coffee, you own it.  So, welcome to my wardrobe, comfy trousers and classy black flats.  Trust me when I tell you that you will be very happy here and will get  A LOT of attention.
