Clashing Colours
I am a pretty neutral chick in terms of my colour choices. I own a LOT of grey. As I have said, I wish that I could go crazy with colour but at the end of the day, I guess I don’t really like to stand out too much. Nothing wrong with that, I suppose, but I often find myself looking wistfully at women wearing sort of clashy colour combos, and totally owning it. You know what I mean… like these

I also always think of Gwyneth in this…

At the time (I think it was 1996…) this whole combo seemed almost revolutionary, although admittedly the blue shirt, in my head, was actually more turquoise-y than it clearly is. And don’t make me comment on those shoes… it was 1996. What else can I say in her defense?
Anyhow, I guess it’s less about wearing a bright coloured dress, perse, as most women can actually pull this off. It’s more the bright colour combo that I find particularly bold and appealing. If I were more graphically gifted, I would try and put together some sort of Polyvore story board to show you what I mean, but I’m not… so I won’t. More to the point, I tried. But I couldn’t. So, here’s my attempt at showing you some ideas based on what we have in stock. You will note, of course, that I tried to make these really crazy, but in the end they turned out to be ‘Marn-ified’ and would be considered SUPER ‘boring’ by… say… anyone who appears on, works for, or even watches MTV. Sorry Rihanna.

N.B. I actually wrote this post on Tuesday and left it because the pics were so bad and I promised myself that I would re-do them. Shockingly, the above photos are the NEW ones… you can imagine just how amazing the old ones were… Anyhow, the reason I re-took them and finished this post is because I came across these images today while roaming around the “internet” and felt like it was a sign that I needed to post this. You be the judge. What do you think of clashing colours? I love it. Apparently I can’t actually pull it off personally (or even in photos), but I still support it 100%.

Ummmmmmm I am OBSESSED with that FP skirt…….also, Marn..I am SO proud of you and all of that color. You have come a long way baby.
