Yeah… this is a cheap post.  But what can I tell you?  I’m THE biggest sucker for an odd-couple animal best friend story.  I invariably cry.  Much like I always laugh when a small animal attacks a human in a bad comedy.   Yes.  I’m just THAT simple.  I keep hoping that Zoe will come home from an adventure in the country with a tiny fox that has lost it’s Mom.  Alternatively, she could at least NOTICE the squirrel who gnawed through my kitchen and bathroom screens to get the the fruit on the counter.  I don’t need them to become BFFs, but it just seems strange to me that we have walked into the kitchen and found the squirrel kickin’ it on the counter, with a WHOLE avocado in it’s paws, and Zoe hasn’t even batted an eyelash.  Isn’t that weird??

So, I thought I would post some animal best friend stuff, because, well, it’s Friday and they make me happy (despite the tears), and even though it’s clearly NOT a holiday here in Montreal, it feels like one.  So, I’m thankful for these stories of unlikely animal besties.  

First, the video of the elephant and the lab.  There is a follow-up story to this duo, but I can’t afford to cry all afternoon, so you will have to google that one… It remains such a heartwarming/breaking story about BFFs

And now just a random gallery of ridiculously adorable animal friends.  I’m dedicating this to my ridiculously adorable friend Wend, hoping that it will make her smile.
