Colour. I need Colour.
Right? I can’t be alone in this.
I admit that as our Winter’s go here in Montreal, it hasn’t been all that bad. But the harsh reality is that once the holidays are over, we are kind of slapped in the face with the fact that Winter is going to last at least another 3 to 4 months. I don’t make the rules, ladies. If I did, we would have had a bunch of beautiful, fluffy, white snow from December 1st to January 1st, and then it would be about 12 degrees and sunny until… hmmm… March 15th, at which point it would rain for 2 days, and the flowers would start blooming, and it would be a constant 25 degrees until about October 1st, when it would drop back to about 12 degrees so the leaves could change and we could all happily wear some cute sweaters and boots, and it would start snowing again on December 1st. That would be ok by me. But, as I said, I, unfortunately, do not make the rules. You can be sure that if I did, the weather would be just one of a gajillion things that I would change… that’s a fun exercise, actually… If YOU made the rules, what rules would you make?
But I digress… Back to reality. So, faced with the next 3-4 months of Winter, I want to see some pretty, bright, colourful things. And so, here are some options for you.
- Free People Fluo Pink Top
- Baggu Bag in Saffron
- Joes Jeans in Violet
- Free People Pullover in Lilypad
Even just looking at the names of the colours here makes me happy… Saffron, violet, lilypad, fluo pink. Simply carrying your groceries in the Baggu bag will brighten up everyone’s day. But I say, go craaaaaazy. The violet jeans, with the fluo pink top, under the lilypad sweater, groceries in the saffron bag. Now THAT is the kind of colour I am talking about. Seeing someone wearing that on a dark February evening at La Buvette for a 5 a 7 would make me really, really happy.

Marnie, I really wish you were the boss of all things weather-related. What you’ve described sounds like the perfect arrangement to me.
