Welcome to the Lola & Emily blog… it’s like the website… only better!  Funner.  Cuter.  More up-to-date.  Cooler.  Edgier… ok, no, not edgier.  That was just a joke- we’re not really all that edgy here.  I mean, maybe we’re edgy compared to… like… your Mom’s blog.  Although if your Mom has a blog she may actually be edgier than us.  Yup.  Your Mom is officially edgier than us…. Hmm.  Ok, well where were we?

Right!  The “blog”.  Maybe you didn’t even realize that this was a blog.  Maybe you just typed in ”Lola & Emily” and were expecting the same old thing.  Actually, I shouldn’t say that!  Dave, our friend and website “guy” has always done such a fabulous job of capturing the spirit and look of Lola & Emily, often with little or confusing direction from me… And he is currently working on getting this to look as “Lola & Emily” as it can within the next few days… so hopefully once he is done, you will still be able to feel his touch (not literally… because that would be weird.  Sorry Dave.  Not that I am implying that you are ‘that’ guy… you are a talented and creative genius….)

In any case, without the help of Dave, our official blog would still be on this piece of paper.   The same piece of paper that has little notes scribbled everywhere from days of pondering exactly what we want the blog to be and say… notes from our meetings with the lovely ladies at Cloudraker (you know who you are…. Christina, Marie Eve and Isabelle)… comments from my skeptical sister, who told me that “Everyone and their dog has a blog now- yours better be good”.  And she is technically right.

But, I will go on the record right now and tell you that my dog Zoe is not going to have her own blog.  And that’s not because I don’t think that she would have anything interesting to say… We have spent hours pondering exactly what she might say if she got the chance… but more simply because I don’t want to share my computer with her.  And most of her posts would end up being ridiculously cute pictures of her wearing things she shouldn’t be…  Like this picture I caught her trying to upload just a few minutes ago when I went to get lunch…

Ok.  So, there you have it.  Our first official day in the ‘blogosphere’.  Please bear with us while we work out the kinks and make the site look and feel like Lola & Emily.  But think of this as a way for us to give you a little bit more of Lola & Emily- more of our favourite things, both in the store and out.  More special offers and new arrivals.  More information on our brands and lines that we love.  Maybe some details on the lovely ladies who help you everyday at the store.  Insight, ideas and frustrations about small business.  A look into how we buy the things that we do and why.  Links to other fun sites.  Random thoughts, great outfits and… customer profiles.  Yeah- you.  We’d love to have some of you on here.  Because at the end of the day, you are Lola & Emily.  So, technically, this is your blog…. YAY.  You have a blog!
